These pictures are from when Jim went to my parents and asked permission to marry me. Dad, who finds humor in every situation, decided to dive into the old cliche and have the shotgun on proud display in the living room. Good thing my parents like Jim… Puts the phrase “Shotgun wedding” into a whole new perspective.
Well… this week has been a long one. I am ready for a holiday weekend. Thoughts and prayers with those on the Gulf Coast. I can’t believe what happened to New Orleans. They are going to have to let the whole city go under water because they can’t fix the levees. Although this compares to the tsunami in NO way at all, it is still a tragedy. The power and destruction of a storm still amazes me. On the Today show this morning, they showed an image of a brick home. A portion of the wall was blown out and the entire thing was gutted. A brick home… blown through like it was a plastic tarp… such power. I can’t even begin to feel the total loss and despair those residents must feel. To go back to your neighborhood and have nothing, absolutely nothing standing, is beyond me. I am truly thankful to have my friends and family safe and close and to be able to move into a new home. I am so blessed. Thank you Lord…
