I really appreciated the long weekend, even though I didn’t get as much rest as I would have liked. Friday was work till noon and then a date night with Jim. We went to Holland. I forget how nice that town is.
Then on Saturday, Mom B, Teresa, Julie, Andrea, Marissa, Audrey, and Haley went wedding dress shopping with me again. I was pretty set on the one I had found at Becker’s the Saturday before, but just wanted to be sure. So after four shops, I decided to stick with “mine.” After I got home I called Becker’s and ordered my dress! It should be here in four months!! Then Saturday night, Jim was going to come over, but his water pump hose blew, so I had to rescue him off of the side of 196. That was the first time he ever rode in my car with me driving. He complained the whole time about how small it was… hee hee. Where’s the gratitude babe?? 🙂
Sunday included a good church service, a nice long bike ride which included many big hills, a game of tag on a playground (haven’t done that in forever!), and then a period of recuperation.
Labor Day was beautiful! Us Braam’s headed out to Rosy Mound County Park in Grand Haven. The waves were decent and the water was a little chilly, but it felt good after laying in the sun. I spent most of the time on my towel in the sun and loved every minute of it. I got some of my color back. Woo-hoo!
I guess it’s officially the end of summer even though the first day of autumn isn’t until September 22. This brings a variety of emotions. 1: I am excited about the leaves changing color, hay rides, haunted houses, my birthday, Thanksgiving, and other autumnal activities. 2: Means it is getting closer to May 12, 2006! 3: Means that winter is coming, which means Christmas (yay!) and snow (booo!). So I guess looking at those reasons, I should see it as a good things. But then that snow is a really big boooo. It lasts until March or April and includes many slippery days, those snow boogers you get on the back of you tires, salt, shoveling, and sub-zero temps that causes your snot to freeze. I am not trying to complain because I know we live in one of the most beautiful states, but seriously… I wouldn’t mind less snow and cold.
I guess I won’t have to deal with that for a little while. Have a good short work week!
