On September 17 at 7:50 PM, we welcomed Teja Kathleen Braam. She was 8 lbs 9 oz and 20 inches long.
We pronounce her name “Tay-uh.” Since the spelling is different, we realize we may have to repeat that a lot. But, that should just make her more memorable!
Her first name comes from Jim’s side of the family. It has Dutch roots and is shared by some of his relatives. It’s also a form of Dorothea, which means “gift of God” in its Greek form. She is definitely God’s gift to us and since we had to wait a little longer than expected for her to be made and for us to meet her, it rings especially true.
Her middle name is my maternal grandmother’s first name. She was known as Kay, which is my middle name.
So far, Teja has been such a sweet and easy baby. We are so thankful for her and that even though she was 8 days late, when she decided to come, she didn’t waste anytime. I will document her birth story another time. 🙂
Transitioning to a family of four has been going well. Ezra has his moments, but that’s to be expected. He loves to give his baby Teja kisses and hugs. Our hearts are very full in the Braam home!
I’m so, so excited for you guys! SHe’s so beautiful! 🙂
