It’s official

Happy first day of fall. Say hello to falling leaves, cold wind, and hot drinks… I think I can deal with that.

The one thing I cannot deal with is cold mornings. It’s hard enough to get out of bed and get ready for work, but it’s even harder to get up at 6:30 and run when it’s 40 degrees outside. And I know it’s only going to get colder. I did that this morning and believe me it took everything in me not to jump back in bed, burrow under my four layers of covers, and sleep for another glorious half hour. But, alas, my conscious kept yelling at me, so I got up and dragged my butt for 2 miles. I did run really fast though, so I could get done quicker 🙂 Toby Mac sang/rapped to me the whole way. I have been doing really well at this running thing… 4 mornings a week for the last two months! Buuut, I really don’t think my conscious can make me run in the snow, so I guess treadmill will get an early workout too when the snow starts falling.

Jim and I have been busy with work and church lately, which is the same thing for me :-). Senior high has been going well for Michele and I. We have 12 potential girls in our “SMALL” group, but all of them don’t come every week, so I think we will survive. Not that we don’t want them to come, but it can get overwhelming! Jim has most of the same boys he had last year, so that’s fun for him. He even got one boy from down our street to come and he will be in his group. His new co-leader is basically a version of Jim: football, ping pong, outdoors kind-of guy, so that should be a good group!

This last weekend we celebrated Marissa and Brad’s engagement at One the Border. Lots of good times there. It was nice to all be together again.

I hope you survive this wet weekend! A football game and trip to Whitehall are in our plans. Should be fun…
